Overview
A payment is recorded as a Line Item in your Student Accounts file. The Payment Method is one of the fields. The name of this payment method is also incorporated into automatically-entered text in the Description field.
If you have already finalised the line item that records this payment, you will need to be logged with the "Admin" Privilege Set to make any changes to it.
Find the Payment
- Go to Home > Accounts > Navigation :: Line Items
- Perform a Find or just sort the records in such a way that you can find the one you need to edit.
- For example, sort by Date or search for a Debtor name.
The line will be identified as a payment by the Category field, and the payment method is shown in the Method field.
Edit the Payment
Select the Method field to open the line item.
The Payment Method is listed under the Payment Details button.
Change the entry to the correct information.
You will generally want to also edit the text in the Description field to reflect the correct information there as well.
Note: If this line item has already been journaled, you will need Admin privileges to edit it, and you will also need to edit the spreadsheet and/or system that the information was exported to.
