NOTE: Most schools now have an automated script to import student data. If that is your school, you will not need to use the import script, nor the undo-import script. If any error occurs, please contact the Music Monitor team to have it resolved.
If you manually run the Standard Student Import script to bring in your student data, and something goes wrong, see below.
If something goes wrong during the import, the student details will not be updated, or all student data will be lost. If data is lost, the script has successfully performed the first step of deleting student data but has failed to import the updated data. Rather than attempting to ‘undo’ the student import, the best solution is to resolve the errors in the import process and attempt it again.
The most common causes for the ‘Standard Student Import’ failing are:
- The spreadsheet is not named ‘Student records’.
- The sheet is not named 'Sheet1’.
- The spreadsheet is not saved in the correct folder.
- Some or all the column headings are not named to match the Music Monitor fields.
Once all schools have moved away from the manual import to the automated process, this page will be removed.
